Caromee 2.1: Ethernet, CAPL scripting, Logfile Converter

Caromee is software developed by Eberspächer Electronics for the purpose of measuring and analyzing networks in vehicles. The new Release 2.1 (available early 2012) was launched, with even greater functionality. The most important new feature in Caromee 2.1 is that it can now capture and analyze Ethernet data in addition to CAN and FlexRay buses. Thanks to the new Basic-CAPL converter you can also easily convert your CAPL scripts into the scripting language Lua. This makes migrating to Caromee significantly easier. The analysis software includes a Logfile Converter as a supplementary tool. This enables log files to be converted from one format to another. If you want to communicate directly with the converter using a programming interface, the Python programming language offers an extremely straightforward solution. Analyses and conversions based on an automated process will provide support where it is needed in your work with log files.

64th IAA Motor Show in Germany

This year's IAA Show was held under the motto "The future comes as standard". Eberspächer showed how this concept might play out in the area of sound design with ActiveSound as standard equipment in the new Audi A6 Avant. We worked in close collaboration with Eberspächer's Exhaust Technology Division to develop the control unit and the software, and we developed an innovative algorithm for calculating the sound pattern. Everyone was amazed when, at the push of a button, the typical knocking sound of a diesel engine was replaced by a classy V8 sound from the exhausts of test vehicles at the show.

15. International VDI Congress "Electronic Systems for Motor Vehicles"

Our sales team was on hand for you at this congress held in Baden-Baden, one of the most important automotive electronics events of the year. The highlights on our stand were our FlexConfig and FlexXCon midget solutions for the CAN and FlexRay bus systems, featuring gateways and signal manipulation. We had plenty of in-depth conversations with yourselves and other customers, giving us the opportunity not only to explain the technical details but also to enter into plenty of fascinating discussion of development and trends in the industry. So, many thanks for exchanging your views with us and for such a great positive response. We look forward to further interesting dialog with you – come and see us at "embedded world" in Nuremberg from 28th February to 1st March 2012.
