ECUs are tested in the lab in development and on test racks. Here remaining bus simulations (RBS), gateways and signal manipulations for CAN and FlexRay are needed.

RBS
With a remaining bus simulation (RBS) missing ECUs can be simulated. All necessary bus signals are provided to the ECU under test.

CAN/FlexRay Gateway
If the existing test equipment is still based on CAN and the new ECUs are already using FlexRay, a CAN/FlexRay gateway is required. The gateway forwards the signals from CAN to FlexRay and vice versa.

FlexRay/FlexRay Gateway
A FlexRay/FlexRay gateway is used, when both test rack and ECU under test have different communication matrices. This is also required in order to modify the signal.

Signal Manipulation
With signal manipulation signals can be changed in the gateway.
Control From The Test Rack
Gateway configurations and signal manipulations can be directly controlled from the test rack software.
